Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

Hemp Cymru is committed to making this website accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of disability, device, or connection. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA throughout this site.

Accessibility is not a compliance exercise. This site communicates with Welsh farmers, policymakers, and public bodies. It must work for everyone who needs to read it.

How accessible this site is

We have designed this site with accessibility in mind from the outset. Current provisions include: sufficient colour contrast ratios across all text and background combinations; full keyboard navigability; semantic HTML structure with appropriate ARIA labels where required; and respect for the prefers-reduced-motion system setting, which disables all scroll-driven animations for users who have requested reduced motion.

The scroll journey

The homepage features an interactive scroll journey built with Three.js and animation. A full text-only transcript of this journey is available at hempcymru.org/journey/transcript. This transcript contains all narrative content from the journey in plain accessible text, without animation or motion.

Known limitations

This site is in active development. We conduct accessibility audits before each significant release. Any known issues are listed here as they are identified. At the time of writing, no material accessibility failures are known. If you find one, please tell us.

Reporting an issue

If you experience difficulty accessing any part of this site, or if content is not available in a format that meets your needs, contact us at hello@hempcymru.org. We will respond within five working days and work to resolve the issue or provide the content in an alternative format.

Technical information

This statement applies to hempcymru.org. It was prepared in March 2026 and will be reviewed following each material change to the site. This site is built with Next.js and uses semantic HTML5 throughout.
